Another day, another recall from Tesla over defects in the luxury automaker’s electric vehicles. The company recently announced that it is calling back some 48,000 cars because they may not display the speedometer while in "Track Mode.” Tesla says a December firmware update unintentionally removed the speed unit from the user interface on certain Model 3 vehicles.

The revived DeLorean Motor Co. brand is set to roll out a new set of wheels in California this summer. The company plans to reveal its new electric car concept on Aug. 18 at an event at Pebble Beach, the Detroit News reports. DeLorean will also announce the name of the new model, an image of which was recently made public, at the event.

Ford Motor Co.’s latest sales numbers are in and they are not good. The company said sales slipped by more than 17% in the first quarter of the year, compared to the same period last year. The overall drop included a more than 23% decline in truck sales, according to the company.

General Motors is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles over a defect that could make them difficult to drive in wet weather. The windshield wipers on certain 2014 to 2015 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles could fail, the company recently told federal regulators.

Volkswagen is the latest major auto manufacturer with a vehicle fire problem on its hands. The company is recalling some 100,000 hybrid vehicles around the world, Reuters reports. Inadequate engine cover fastenings pose a fire risk in the recalled cars, according to VW.
